Bogandilla Wind Farm

A new wind farm project in Australia

Project Summary

Approximately 80 wind turbines, with a blade height of up to 280 metres (m), are proposed to be built on the wind farm site with an approximate generation capacity of 540-600 MW, which is expected to supply over 290,000 Queensland homes. For the proposed wind farm to supply renewable energy, it is proposed to connect the wind farm to the Wandoan South 275kV substation via a double circuit 275kV overhead transmission line.

The design has been informed by a number of detailed technical, engineering and environmental studies and assessments which include:

  • Ecology – Flora and Fauna;
  • Agriculture;
  • Water;
  • Landscape and Visual;
  • Noise;
  • Cultural Heritage;
  • Bushfire Risk;
  • Accommodation and infrastructure;
  • Access and Transport; and
  • Geology and Hydrology.

RES values community input and is committed to consulting with the local community and a wide range of stakeholders to provide information on the project and to seek valuable feedback on community benefit sharing options.

Consultation activities may include:

  • Community information sessions;
  • Project update newsletters; and
  • One-on-one meetings with adjoining residents and near neighbours (face to face or remotely).
