Bogandilla Wind Farm
A new wind farm project in Australia
Contributing to Climate Change Policy Targets
The Bogandilla Wind Farm project will contribute to the achievement of Federal and State objectives in respect of tackling climate change through increasing the proportion of electricity generated from renewable sources.
In October 2022, The Queensland Government released its "Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan", committing to a 70% renewable energy target by 2032 and 80% by 2035, building on a previous renewable energy generation target of 50% by 2030.
The Plan positions Queensland to have a nation-leading clean energy economy with significant investment towards infrastructure, jobs and clean, reliable and affordable energy to provide power for generations.
The Federal Government has set a national goal of achieving 33GWh of electricity to be annually produced by renewable sources by 2020 (The Renewable Energy Target or RET).
International: The COP21, also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, achieved a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C, chiefly by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Development in renewable energy such as the Bogandilla Wind Farm Project is required to achieve this reduction.
